A look at Energy Trends over Time
In this project, I took a deep dive into how the world has been producing and using energy from 1990 to 2020 — and what that means for the planet. Using Tableau, I built a set of interactive dashboards that explore everything from renewable energy growth to CO₂ emissions and energy efficiency across countries and regions.
The data showed some cool (and not-so-cool) trends. Europe is leading the charge in renewable adoption, while the Asia & Pacific region is catching up fast — though still heavily tied to fossil fuels. Countries like Germany have made big strides in solar and wind, while places like China and India are juggling energy demands with sustainability goals.
I worked with 30 years of global energy data, cleaned and organized in Excel, and visualized it in Tableau to make the story clear and engaging. The result? A dashboard that helps anyone — from analysts to policymakers — get a snapshot of where the world stands on energy, and where we need to go next.
